I’ll Have a Blue Christmas

“I’ll have a blue Christmas without you.” With those few little lyrics, I’m sure you’re doing your best Elvis Presley impression right now.  While I sing along, I’m going to give you a few of my favorite Blue Christmas Vintage Picks that are fit for an evening soiree.

Love what you see?  I know I do, but alas a girl can’t have everything.  Be sure to check out these lovely shops for even more stylish vintage!

WISE STYLE: Comfortable Classic for Thanksgiving

Comfortable Classic
Comfortable Classic by wisebrunette featuring a blue purse

I will not forgo style for comfort this Thanksgiving.  We don’t have a dress code at my family gatherings, but I like to opt for comfort as I gorge on holiday goodies.  A look like this one keeps it comfy and cozy with a sweater dress and leggings — think stretching room for the appetite you’ve been saving away for the big meal!  Dress up the look with a necklace, bracelets, and a pair of colored booties.  Bring the oversized handbag in case you’ll be carrying left overs.  Just kidding… or am I?

What’s your Thanksgiving dress code?

Wise Style: Sweater Weather West Virginia

A breezy day on top of the rolling West Virginia hills

We spent a week in West Virginia visiting family and friends this past October.  It was a breezy day (hence the hair), but absolutely beautiful.  Note to self (and anyone else in the outdoors):  don’t wear your favorite pair of flats when you might be walking around in tall grass.  Oops.  We still had fun wandering around and snapping photos of his family’s farm.  Despite the wind, I was perfectly comfortable in my 3/4 sleeve sweater.  Did you notice the pattern on the sleeves?  I immediately go into Autumn mode, whenever I pull this one out of my closet!

Sweater: Anthropologie (purchased last year)
Scarf: Lands' End; gift from Dillon
Jeans: H&M (I swear by these!)
Jewelry: Earrings handmade by me; Bracelet gift from Dillon
Shoes: Me Too Flats (this post)
